Privacy Policy
NFC Kit — last updated 7 September 2026
Summary
NFC Kit does not collect any data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server operated by the developer. Everything the app produces stays on your device, or in your own iCloud, which the developer cannot access.
What data the app handles, and how
- Tag scans and tag content — UID, chip type, memory contents and the NDEF records you read or write are stored locally on your device.
- iCloud backup (optional, paid feature) — if you turn it on, that same history syncs through your iCloud private database. Apple's CloudKit private database is accessible only to you; the developer has no access to it and no ability to read it.
- Tag passwords — stored in the iOS Keychain and, if you use iCloud Keychain, synced end-to-end encrypted between your own devices. They are never written to iCloud backup and never leave your devices in readable form.
- Location — requested only when you tap the "Get your location" button while writing a location tag, and used only to fill in the coordinates you are about to write. It is not stored separately and not transmitted anywhere.
- Face ID / Touch ID — used only to unlock the tag-password settings. Authentication is handled by iOS; the app never sees your biometric data.
Data shared with third parties
None. The app contains no analytics tools, no advertising networks, no third-party SDKs and no tracking of any kind. It makes no network requests other than to Apple's own iCloud service on your behalf. There are no parent, subsidiary or related entities with access to user data, because no user data is collected.
Data retention and deletion
- Delete individual scans by swiping a row in History, or clear everything from Settings.
- Deleting the app removes all local data with it.
- If iCloud backup was enabled, turn it off in the app and delete the app's data from
Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
- Tag passwords can be removed in the app's tag-password settings, which also removes them from iCloud Keychain.
- Because no data is sent to the developer, there is nothing for the developer to delete and no consent to revoke. Turning off iCloud backup or location access in iOS Settings withdraws those permissions at any time.
Children
NFC Kit is a utility app, is not directed at children, and collects no data from anyone regardless of age.
